Tired and Cheesed Off

Right now I should be fast asleep. But I'm not. Why? Because I'm reinstalling Windows for the second time in 24 hours.

I thought I'd got my poor dead computer working again by this evening and all seemed well. But then it decided it didn't want to boot again. I think the problem lies with one of the hard disks reaching the end of its life. Thankfully I have another hard disk.

But because I use this machine for work and I'm going to be out in the morning at the optician, I have to get the computer shipshape now, yes in the early hours of the morning.

Right now I'm manually downloading Service Pack 2 for Windows XP because Windows Update says I don't have a valid copy of XP. That's a damn lie, but there's nothing I can do about it right now. So I have to do this the hard way.

At least this time I seem to have got the wireless connection working right away. So I'm able to post this blog entry while I wait for the SP2 download to finish.

So I'm tired and grumpy. I've spent all day doing this and now I'm having to do it again so I can get some working done later today, It's been a really hot day here and I just feel rather worn out.

Sleep, I'd love some sleep right now.
