Think UK Jobcentre's are strict?
It can be pretty tough on the dole. There you are looking for a job in your chosen career, trying your best etc. but still have to queue up twice a month with all the chavs to get your measly giro.
To make matters worse the Department of Stealth and Total Obscurity will try to get you to take jobs that have nothing at all to do with your usual career. I remember last time I was signing on they didn't actually understand what my job was. There was nothing in the computer system to take account of a job working on the internet - as though it was only made yesterday.
Anyway, things are much worse in Germany as this Telegraph story shows. Now prostitution is legal in Germany the job centres there just view it as a regular job. And that means they can threaten you with reduced benefits if you refuse to take such a job.
Kind of makes you almost be thankful for our civil service.
