The Wonders of TheTrainline,com
I'm off to London tomorrow afternoon to visit the flat L and I are intending to rent. This has required the purchase of the train ticket from TheTrainline.com.
It's supposed to arrive today by one o'clock, as it's not that time yet I suppose there's no reason to actually panic or anything. But as the postie hasn't arrived yet and there's no sign of the ticket I thought I'd phone TheTrainline to find out what's going on.
But you see the ticket was purchased with L's credit card, so although they'd acknowledge my existence, Trainline refused to discuss any aspects of the purchase with me.
So I had to ask L to phone them instead. And guess what? Because it was via my TheTrainline account they wouldn't talk to her either. But being a bit of a whizz with customer service L asked, "If you can't talk to my boyfriend and you can't talk to me, who do you want to talk to?"
Which meant they actually caved in and gave her a Royal Mail reference we could use to see exactly how lost the ticket is. As I said, it's supposed to arrive by one today. That gives 40 minutes for Royal Mail to pull its finger out and get something done.
