The Horrors of Packing
We're off to the Spring Harvest event at Skegness Butlins on Saturday, over a week away from the trials of daily life, a chance to unwind and relax.
Except today it's finally dawned on me that I have to pack for a week and a half away. I can't remember the last time I spent more than seven days from home. Actually I can, it was 1991 when I went with the boys on a Club 18-30 holiday in the South of France.
So clearly my packing is going to be quite different from then. Global Hypercolour is not exactly flavour of the month anymore - but then I looked a mess in 1991 anyway. I'll have to do a load of laundry and then work out what I actually need to take. L has already been leaving stuff here in anticipation of the vacation - so I'm anticipating she'll be bringing tons of stuff.
I'm more of a light traveller really. In fact I'm assuming I can do some laundry while away and not have to take so much stuff. But then I realise we can do stuff like go swimming and that means I have to bring my swimming stuff. And my swimming pants are big.
I imagine it's clear to you dear readers that I haven't a clue what I'm doing and need a woman's advice. Perhaps I shall hold off my packing efforts until the arrival of the lovely L on Thursday afternoon - she will no doubt be full of wisdom on the issue.
