The Day After the London Attacks
The nearby tube station seems to be operating normally this morning, the usual sound of trains coming and going can be heard. But it's not quite the same.
There are several men in orange high-visibility clothing walking on the platforms, they are checking every nook and cranny, every gap, behind each fence and the trackside foliage. I imagine it's a scene that is going on across London, each station being checked for clues and more importantly further explosive devices.
I'll admit that I am nervous about taking the Tube again. Thankfully my job means I don't have to use the system very much, and not usually at rush hour anyway. But the fact remains that I'm not entirely confident of stepping on a Tube train and I don't know how long this reticence will last.
