The Welsh might well be getting all irate at the English drivers whizzing up Snowden, across Anglesey and around Llandudno whilst flying flags, but I tell you what they can brew beer.
Infact I think I have found a new love and that love is called Reverend James. No he isn't the local vicar who've I've defrocked, but a fine bitter produced by SA Brains (the same company who sponsor the Welsh Rugby Union team).
I'll leave it to the company themselves to describe the bitter as they have a better way of words than I.
The Rev. James is brewed to a traditional recipe and has been described as having a flavour not commonly available these days. Full-bodied and warming, The Rev. James is rich in palate, spicy and aromatic with a deeply satisfying finish.
My local The Locomotion (where the first booking office was built for the Stockton-Darlington railway) has had this beer on tap for the past three weeks and I have become addicted to the stuff. The landlord has also tried to confuse me by moving it from one end to the other of the three guest bitters that he has on tap. So well done to the Welsh...next week I'll be reviewing Leeks, Lava Bread and the lyrics to Bread of Heaven, whilst writing an ode to Dylan Thomas!!
