....so you can drop me into orbit?
Been catching up on bits of news this morning and I've found some snippets that had been obscured by the news about the bombings.
Firstly, this:
In short, record execs are seriously annoyed about the fact that the BBC have been giving away free music "as it devalues that music and gives the public the perception that it's OK for music to be free". I'm not as surprised at this reaction as you may think - there's actually a law a formal regulation in place that specifically forbids gaming publications from giving away free games for a similar reason. Still, surely people have had long enough to make money out of Beethoven and who's to say that people who downloaded these tracks might not go out now and BUY more classical music?
Nextly, this:
The logic behind this is simply astounding. A group of French cleaners had to pay £76 per month for a bus journey to and from work. The bus took ages, was often late and wouldn't respond to criticism when the service didn't stand up, so they decided to car-share instead. The bus company is now suing them for loss of earnings. How the feck can they justify this? Apparently it's been thrown out of court before so I'm very much hoping that the high court will do the same again. Hopefully with a huge fine for the bus company for wasting the court's time.
