Sky Woes
Well the postman arrived this morning with my Sky DigiBox which I'd asked my dad to send over to our new flat. You see there's a sky cable, the kind that comes from the dish, running into our lounge at the new place.
So I set everything up and realised that the cable didn't reach. A quick trip into Brentwood and I had a cable extension, finally I could get everything working.
Did it work?
No.
The DigiBox says "No satellite signal received". This could be for any number of reasons, the first of which could be that there's no dish on the other end of the cable. Due to the height of this building though, there's no way I can tell. I've put in a call to the estate agents that rented our flat, but our landlord is apprenlty not likely to know, so fat lot of good that is.
The second issue could be there's a problem with the cable, either the one running into the flat, or the new extension cable. I've checked the connections I can get to and all seems fine there.
The other problem could be one of settings, perhaps my DigiBox isn't set up correctly to work here, now I've moved from Manchester to Essex, I've no idea.
So for the moment, I've got a silver box in the lounge that's no use at all. I've a feeling I'm going to have to pay someone to sort this out - even though it's likely to be something rather simple.
