Six Months Today
Today is October 5th, which means that six months from today we'll be getting married. Preparations go well and without stress - surprisingly. We've the church (obviously), reception venue and catering booked already.
How cool is that?
Though I do feel that our wedding will actually be a mere formality.
Why?
Well Jo and I last night engaged in the act that binds two people together within a committed and lifelong relationship.
Yes.
We went to IKEA and bought furniture together.
This is a huge step for any couple and one we didn't enter into lightly. In fact it took us several hours of shopping at Brent Cross and dinner at a nice restaurant to pluck up the courage to do the deed.
Some time later we found ourselves spent and exhausted having committed the filthy act. It had been a near run thing. Six two-metre long boxes do not easily fit within the confines of a Ford Focus C-Max. Much moving of seats was needed before we got all our purchases into the the car - but we did it.
So there we go, six months to go and we've already given in and been to IKEA together.
You may be wondering how we managed it given the pressures of parenthood. Well thanks to the generosity and kindness of Patrick and Kitty's grandparents (on Jo's side) we've had two child free days.
The twins return to us on Saturday, we miss them, but we're also enjoying some freedom and a chance to remind ourselves that we actually have some conversation other than baby poo.
Oh and we bought one of these from IKEA, no for me, not for the kids.
