Forston Ramble
A bit of a wander around Forston starting in Charlton Down. This is the first time I'd explored these public footpaths. It didn't go entirely to plan - the map was rather confusing at one point and lead me half a mile across the wrong field. I then had to trudge back again.
But I had a good walk over three and a half miles, with all the rough ground and up and down it felt much further.
All of these pictures were taken with the rather wonderfully sharp Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 lens.

Dorset Coast Road
A Sunday drive along the coast between Abbotsbury and Burton Bradstock.
It was quite hazy so I've processed most of these shots with a high-contrast filmic look.
I'd love to go back to these locations at a more photogenic time of day - but having small children does often make that difficult.

Yeovilton International Air Day 2009
Low cloud made for a poor grey spectacle at the air show today - and it kept many planes from flying. The poor light and ugly grey sky meant that of 300 photos these are the only ones I thought had much merit.

Dorset Sunset
This is very close to what came out of the camera as I tried to capture this sunset. The photograph was taken handheld and I had a soft ND grad filter on the lens.
However I did develop the shot three times with Canon DPP at different EV levels then recombine them - the aim being to capture what I saw rather than create a HDR monstrosity.
The result is actually so close to the image that came out of the camera I probably could have achieved the same result by fiddling with curves.
Camera: Canon EOS 50D
Lens: Tamron 10-24mm
Pushing Up Daisies
Another shot of the gravestones here at the bottom of the hill in Charlton Down, Dorset.
I'm assuming there are no actual graves here anymore, especially now the chapel is a fitness centre. But the stones themselves have been left here.
There's something oddly beautiful about them.
Lulworth Cove
I found myself clambering over some rocks at Lulworth Cove that had "broken ankle" written all over them, which is not idea when carrying a grand's worth of photographic gear with you. The rock pools are very pretty though and the algae and seaweed on the rocks a very vivid shade of green.
Photo taken with my Canon EOS 50D and Tamron 17-50mm f2.8. I also had a Hoya circular polariser on the lens to remove the reflections from the pools and rocks.
Minimum post processing in DXO Optics Pro, just a little straightening and contrast.
Les Paul
My new Epiphone Les Paul guitar.
Photo taken with an Canon EOS 5 using Ilford HP5 400 Plus. Lens Tamron 70-200m f2.8.
Springtime Glow
Just something I snapped while out for a lunchtime walk close to home. Taken with a Canon EOS 50D DSLR camera and Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 lens, on a memory card - because there's no such thing as digital film.
My Photos for Sale
Today I've launched a new little venture. Some of my photographs are now available for purchase via a Photobox Pro page.
You can buy regular 6"x4" prints for a few pence or more elaborate gifts such as mouse mats, mugs, large canvas prints and the like.
I've launched my print shop with just one set of photos today, but more will be added over the coming weeks.
One practical upshot of this new gallery is that I'm going to retire the gallery currently hosted here at harryneary.com but many of those images will be transferred over to the Photobox Pro page in due time.
Take a look you'll find my print shop at photoboxgallery.com/harryneary.
By the way, if you see something you like over on my Flickr page do let me know and I'll add it to the print shop.
Westbay Golden Hour
I had a chance to pop over to Westbay this evening to catch the sunset. I took something like 100 shots in the brief time I was there and I think these were the best.
All shots were taken with a Canon EOS 50D DSLR camera and Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 lens.
Storm Brewing
So yes, there have been few updates on the site recently. That's because our family has been busy moving - which has also left little time for photography.
But this afternoon I went for a brief stroll around our new village and my eyes were drawn to this barn. The brooding clouds combined with the strong lines in the landscape made this an obvious subject for a photograph.
