Packing Up and Moving On
I'm sat here at my PC working now, actually as a break. I'm tired and shagged out having spent the last few hours sorting out stuff and packing up for my move to London.
I dealt with ten years of accumulated financial records in a decisive and eager manner. The reams of paper under my bed were filed in the following way - they were dumped into rubbish bags and will be taken away by the bin men. Of course if anything important was in there I can always solve that later. I have no time to wade through all that stuff properly.
Then there's the matter of packing things up. I put together a cardboard box for all my CDs. This is a special box that will dump all the CDs out of the bottom when carried into the flat on Sunday, you mark my words.
Most annoying and strenuous job so far was untangling the miles of cabling from my DVD Surround Sound system. Cables everywhere, I'm sure they've grown since I bought the thing last year.
I've got my games consoles to pack up too.
The biggest job is packing up my PC and getting all the related stuff together for it. As I work from home, moving my PC is the most important aspect of the move. I need to be able to set this up easily and quickly at the other end.
And I've a big TV to take too. And then there's all the laundry to do then pack up. Oh it's all so terribly grown up and I am so not grown up. Still this is all part of the excitement of moving. I can't wait to get the keys for the flat and no longer have to travel 193 miles to see the most gorgeous girl in the world.
Meanwhile L has been busy sorting out a phone line for us, so those of you who normally have my number will get our new number in due course.
