Ouch! Part Deux
When I woke up at 5.30am in agony this morning I was really struggling with life. I tried that mental excercise where you visualise the pain and try to make the image of it smaller. That has worked for me in the past. But the pain just appeared like a big old strobe light that didn't let me coral it at all. As the pain killers kicked in the light grew dimmer and I actually went back to sleep.
It's now late afternoon and the tooth that was giving me the problem is now in my coat pocket wrapped up in tissue paper. I haven't had the nerve to look at the bugger yet. While the private dentist was expensive I have to say the service was exceptionally good. The overhead computer screen with my X-ray pictures on was pretty cool too, and the dentist fabulous - had the tooth out with the minimum of fuss and effort.
I'm at the stage now where the anaesthetic is wearing off. So I feel like I've gone a few rounds with a fighting bear. And my mouth is also tender from the X-ray sensor in addition to the actual extraction. But you know what? Any discomfort is a dull glowing plastic ceiling star that I'm keeping very well contained. After the agony of 5.30am I'm a blooming expert.
