On the Road Again
Well tonight we're packing up our lives into boxes once again and are moving on. My beloved L and I are leaving North London behind and moving to a much nicer flat over in Essex. This time tomorrow, we'll be in our new flat, and L will happily be only ten minutes walk away from her parents.
Of course, moving home is a stressful thing. We're both tired and stressed today. I've still got plenty of things left to pack and the moving company is coming round at eight thirty tomorrow morning. But at least we have a moving company to help us, so we won't need to move anything heavy around. It should, I repeat should, make our day much easier.
It's been time of several changes. Today I got hold of a new mobile phone and number. Now L and I can save some money by being on the same network, but it's also a good time to change. Too many people have my old mobile number that I'd rather didn't have it. And from now on the folks who know the new number is a select few.
I've only ever had one mobile number until now, so it'll take a while to get used to changing my number. I haven't memorised the new number yet. Anyway I've got a posh new mobile with a colour screen and polyphonic ringtones, for a mobileophobe like me that's about as advanced as I need.
But anyway, back to the move. Our new flat is fantastic. It's on the second floor of a quiet apartment development. So we'll be saying goodbye to having the sound of the tube nearby and living over a shop with a road approach popular among car-horn users. I'm xad though to wave goodbye to West Finchley, but I'm also excited about the next phase of our adventure.
Our new flat is a short walk from the church where we're getting married one year tomorrow. Yes tomorrow is our minus one anniversary, one year to go before we tie the knot. So there we go, farewell to London, we're away to the suburbs of Essex and rather a nice quiet small town on the edge of nearby countryside.
