They were moving north, and I believe on Thursdays MC has to be approached from northwards, and only from the south if playing a diagonal and the Bakerloo line is wild.

Would that be using the Edgware Rules or the Barnet Rules? Using the Edgware Rules, Circle Line stations get double points and using the connection at Elephant & Castle wins the game outright, doesn't it? Of course on any day other than Thursdays that's classed as an illegal move but once Euston's been played it's pretty much a foregone conclusion, isn't it?
