More on Christian Voice
Want to know a little more about Christian Voice, an organization that thinks bullying cancer charities is the right way for a Christian group to behave?
Well I hinted at it in the previous post but here's a quote about the Sin of the UK today.
"The United Kingdom today is in deep decline. Social and economic trends and the UK crime statistics reveal a nation beset by rising crime, family breakdown, infertility, drug-taking, debt, indecency, profligacy and perversion."
Most interesting here I feel are the mentions of family breakdown, infertility and debt. So having a mortgage or a disease of the ovaries is sinful is it? By now I'm sure you're joining me in wondering about the sanity of Christian Voice. But the next issue left me speechless for a while.
In section of its website (I'm not linking to them again today, they've had more traffic than they deserve from me already) that discusses why the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 is breaking the Ten Commandments is this little piece:
"It also introduced an offence of "marital rape," drafted by the Law Commission, unknown in the Law of God, and in conflict with the marriage service of the Book of Common Prayer, where the promises given by a man and woman to each other establish a binding consent to sexual intercourse."
Yes you read that right. Christian Voice is against people being tried for rape in a marital context. So rapists you just go right ahead, the Christian Voice supports you. Oh you better be careful of their wrath if you run a cancer charity, but if you're an abusive rapist husband you can just get on with it knowing what a good scriptural Christian you are.
