PlayStation 3 - The Choice of a New Generation

Microsoft's Xbox 360 may have all the best games, the best controller, XBox Live and a more powerful GPU but it seems it may not be the choice for the next generation of gamers.

Over the last week both Patrick and Kitty have got uncomfortably close to my various bits of technology surrounding the television but both have shown very little interest in the Xbox 360.

Instead it seems the shiny black monolith that is PlayStation 3 has caught their eye. Several days ago Kitty managed to get to the PS3 and actually switch it on.

A few moments Patrick managed to do the same thing, dragging himself off his play mat to move over to the PlayStation 3 and switch it on.

I haven't the heart yet to tell the twins there are bugger all games worth playing on it. Let them have their dream for now.

It's when the contents of their bottles go into various key parts that I find the volume from the user rises....

Have you come across the Byron Review yet mate? Don't ask how I found it, but they are wanting feedback on children and the "potential death trap"* of video games. Yes I've reported on it over at Boomtown. It seems to be a remarkably even handed look at games - certainly it's more about stopping kids playing games they shouldn't, rather than trying to tell adults what they can and can't play.
