Yesterday was a rather exciting day, to the say the least, because Patpat, Kitty and I visited RJ's parish for the first time. This was also the longest trip out we've taken the twins on.
Just our luck then that a journey that should take just under an hour too nearly two thanks to some slow traffic on the M25, but we got there eventually.
RJ seemed to think that the twins didn't like her place very much but really neither Kitty no Patpat have actually given me much impression of an interest in interior design.
More likely Thursday's jabs are still pressing on their mind. Neither has been quite settled since they had their 16-week shots. Kitty's also got a rash on her cheeks that's either related to the jabs or she's started teething - given that some Bonjella calmed her down I think it's likely to be the latter.
So quite a big day then, our first in RJ's Parish and Kitty's first bout of teething. July 28th 2007 being a day we'll most likely remember for quite a while.
We did take the twins to Mothercare at one point to pick up a few things including a travel cot - but we didn't have a buggy with us so had to carry a twinny around each.
I think I got the lucky end of the stick as Pat was charming the staff while I bought the cot. Poor RJ at across the store at another checkout was suffering a grumpy (and as I said most probably teething Kitty) screaming down her ear while she bought a few things.
Still, I think these trips out are giving us lots of confidence taking them out and about. We've just talked about going shopping in Chelmsford this week by train rather than the car - another little milestone in our adventures. Sure, it's only a ten minute journey, but it'll be a completely public one rather than the ease of using a car.
So all good. Yesterday was a special day and we're all rather happy!
