The Funny Things Kids Say
Posted by Harry on 5th January 2009 in The Twins | 454 views
Our twins' favourite people in the entire world are my wife's parents - who they know as Granny and Grandpa.
But being under two they've not quite mastered these two words yet. Granny is apparently "Momo" and Grandpa is known as "Bumpa".
That was until we visited over the New Year. Now it seems both twins seem to have evolved "Bumpa" into something that sounds almost like "Bumhole".
It's actually so clear that at one point my surprised brother-in-law said to the twins "Don't call me dad a bumhole!"
Kids eh?
Happy New Year

For many of us today really signals the beginning of 2009 as we return to work. In fact I've done a little work over the Christmas break but today life returns to normal.
For me that means today I'm on my own with the twins (who are as I type this sweeping the floor - I kid you not) while making an attempt to fulfil my day job commitments as a videogames website editor.
There's an air of doom and gloom about. The post holiday blues affect almost everyone at this time of year. My beloved wifey suffered them last week when we returned from spending a belated Christmas with family in Dorset.
Our Son the Toddler

Ever since the twins were born I've been waiting impatiently for the them to learn to walk. Both have been cruising for ages and also taking a few steps unaided.
But actually making the switch to walking in preference over crawling has taken ages.
We thought our daughter might walk properly first, she's been stepping between handholds for ages now and always seemed to enjoy these brief solo flights, even if she was the more wobbly twin.
Meanwhile our son, who has been able to walk for ages now, has shown little interest in doing it very much.
"Yeah I can do that," his expression would often say. "But I really can't be bothered."
But yesterday saw that all change. He stood up and walked and has hardly crawled since. He's gone walking bonkers all in one day. The cocky so-and-so has even been carrying stuff around and putting sticklebricks together on the move as if to say "I told you this walking lark is easy."
We're absolutely delighted.
