Incidents on the Tube
13:41 update: The BBC is now reporting that these are "detonator" or "dummy explosions" that have gone off and no-one has been injured. Let's hope so.
News agencies are posting breaking news of incidents on the London Underground.
There are reports of an explosion (or at least smoke) at Warren Street Station. That station, along with the Shepards Bush (both of them) and Oval stations have been evacuated.
Here in North London, I can see that the local Northern Line has been suspended, with a train sat at the platform at a nearby station, with no sign of moving anywhere.
A man on the train [Warren Street] told Sky News he spoke to an Italian man who witnessed an explosion.
"He told me he had seen a man carrying a rucksack which suddenly exploded. It was a minor explosion but enough to blow open his rucksack. Everyone rushed from the carriage. People evacuated very quickly. There was no panic.
"I didn't see anyone injured but there was shock and fright.
"There was a smell of smoke."
If this is a small explosion, perhaps if we're lucky it's just some idiotic copy-cat mischief. Obviously there's nothing very clear at the moment other than the emergency services are responding to incidents in the three London Underground stations.
I hope this is not a major incident on the scale of the recent tragic events.
The BBC are updating with several reports that at the moment have not been confirmed, one is of a shooting at a London Underground station, another of an incident on a bus in the city. However the attacks from earlier in the month led to several reports that were ultimately not true, so these should be taken with a pinch of salt until confirmed.
