The Danish papers really shouldn't have printed those cartoons about Islam, it was a foolish act. The majority of Muslims are of course peaceful adherents to their faith. We don't describe the IRA as Christian terrorists, so why should Bin Laden and his cronies be described as Muslim terrorists?

I'm pretty used to having my Christian faith lampooned, despite all the media fuss by people about these cartoons and media perceptions of Islam, there's been little mentioned how Christianity is constantly made fun off in western media. Doesn't bother me, God's big enough to take it, it's the right-wing hate-mongers within my own faith that bother me more than criticisms from outside of it.

There are some extremists in Christianity that do evil in the name of our faith, like the marital-rape advocate and cancer charity blackmailer Stephen Green of Christian Voice. However even that idiotic Green hasn't set a TV station on fire, yet.

But I'm digressing, my criticisms here about the Beirut protestors aren't about their religion. This is about emotional maturity and intelligence. It really doesn't matter whether you're Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Hindu, Pagan, Atheist, Jewish or believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, if someone says your beliefs are inherently violent and you get so outraged about this that your perform and act of violence you are helping to prove two things. Firstly that the criticism was correct and secondly that you are perhaps the most moronic person on the planet.
