Heart of Darkness
Crikey, sorry about that last post. It went all a bit Colonel Kurtz didn't it?
I mean, what was all that "standing like a tree in a hurricane" crap?
I might as well have shaved my head, turned off the lights and said, "I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor. That's my dream. That's my nightmare."
I really should get over myself.

Harry, I have known you for a few years on EG (I'm monkeyspasm btw) - and have always liked & respected your values and spirit.
I have not been through anything like what you just have - but my daughter is living with me now as a result of tragedy, and my partner and our children have been through pain and as a result have found an inner strength we never knew possible. Your babies are a fantastic miracle and their smiles and hope will get you through.
I really feel for you, and was really upset when I saw the EG post. I know you will be a great father and role model for the children.
Good luck.

Hello -I followed your link from the Shipoffools.
Don't ever worry about poverty or saying 'No' to stuff as the children get older -I came from a cash-strapped family and I think it actually helped my mum to teach us what in life has REAL value. How I pitied those poor little mites in my class with shiny new trainers and BMXs, as I saw them desperately try to attract their parents attention as they chatted at the school gate.
Love and attention are free and I'm sure you will give them all you can and be a wonderful successful father. x

Harry.....remember you're Irish roots...don't feel you have to have that British stiff upper lip!! I'm thinking of you often and following your blog. I will be here praying for you and will listen anytime. Especially when you want to talk about parenting challenges!!!
