Heading North
Well it's going to be an interesting weekend for me. For the first time since I moved down here to that London, I'm heading back to Manchester to see my friends. One of my oldest friends, who I've known since I was four, is getting married this weekend.
So not only will I be seeing all my friends, I'll be celebrating a very happy event. Regular readers will know how the gorgeous L and I spent a lot of time travelling to spend time with each other via coach. I didn't think I'd have to use National Express again for a while.
Well I've booked my tickets and I'll be getting a Manchester-bound coach from Golders Green this afternoon. Coach travel isn't the best thing in the world, but I'll have some Patrick O'Brian and Peter F. Hamilton to read on the way.
The trip north also marks the first time I'll have seen my sister since I moved down here. Dad visited us here last week, but I'm so excited about seeing my sister. She's the person I miss more than anyone.
We're going through something of a transition here in North London at the moment. Making ends meet has been tough and L and I have decided to move away from our expensive Finchley flat. We've found a wonderful place over in Shenfield, just 20 minutes down the Liverpool Street line from London and close by L's parents.
Thankfully, although I was nervous about making another move so far, the flat we've found is even nicer than the one we're in at the minute, yet much cheaper. It shows what a difference it makes just moving outside the London boundary. And we'll still find it just as easy to get into the city.
Well I have lots to do, and I doubt I'll be blogging over the weekend, so I just want to wish you all a great weekend and lets keep our fingers crossed for The Ashes eh?
