You know they can shoot people like you after midnight in Chester.

It may be a flying visit to see family if we make it up north next month, mostly to collect stuff I've still got up there.

I think a better bet might be for me just to come up and visit you on the train some time or you come down here.

K is planning a trip with her mother sometime in Feb, so I may drop by then - can't leave it too much longer otherwise things could well be that much more trickier!

BTW - Yes I nicked the spelling off the net, but I can actually sing it - not that you ever doubted me

Well, there's loads of pubs! The Hutton is good and so is the Eagle, though both are a little sports-minded. Further afield off Brentwood High Street is the Victoria Arms: a very "Pooley and O'Malley" venue, or The Castle which used to be quite studenty, and if they don't grab you, there's a nice commercial Littern Tree in the High Street itself. And considering there was a very irate letter in the Gazette this week complaining about there being too many pubs, clubs, drinking establishments etc in the area, I don't think you'll be hard put to find one you like.

In fact, why not just visit them all? We've got a great (cold) corridor for you to sober up in afterwards!!! ;o)

If your local offy had non-alcoholic Becks than I do fear for the standards of the local Inns. I'll not get my hopes up for an evening discussing the reletive merits of peat smoked whiskey
