Fundie Idiots Attack Brokeback Mountain
I suppose it was inevitable, but the Christian right-wing in America has got the knives out for Brokeback Mountain (which many call the "gay cowboy movie"). The right-wingers have criticised Hollywood for making gay and "leftist" movies.
Now to me the latter claim is the most interesting. So now Christians in the US have to be on the right of the political spectrum to be a true Christian? That would leave Jesus out in the cold then with his, sell all your worldly goods agenda, wouldn't it?
"Once again, the media elites are proving that their pet projects are more important than profit," Janice Crouse, of Concerned Women for America, said. "None of the three movies — Capote, Transamerica or Brokeback Mountain — is a box office hit. Brokeback Mountain has barely topped $25 million (£14.2 million) in ticket sales. If America isn’t watching these films, why are they winning the awards?"
It's a brilliant quote isn't it? Janice Crouse is clearly an idiot of the highest order. So awards should go to the movies that people watch the most rather than those that actually have any artistic merit? Genius.
Stephen Bennett, of Straight Talk Radio and moron of an unusually high calibre said: "When Hollywood is pumping out anti-family movies with sexually explicit, twisted and perverse themes that glorify homosexuality, transsexuality and every other kind of sexual immorality — then awarding itself for doing so — Middle America better take note. Last night Hollywood exposed its own corrupt agenda. It is no doubt out on a mission to homosexualise America."
Bizarrly George Clooney has come under fire for his role in Syriana, a film about the middle east conflicts and the ethical issues surrounding the oil trade. Why? I am really not sure. The Christian right in America now seems to think that you have to vote for big business, unethical financial dealing and the oppression of developing world nations. They really are an infuriating corrupt bunch of bastards.
If that's Christianity, then I'm sure as hell not a Christian. If you want me, I'll be over here with the saints.

For Americans it a short journey from "Leftie" to "Communist" and we all know commies are godless.
Stupid, but then you sometimes have to lower yourself to their level to see what they mean.
Personally I think we should start a campaign based on other Levitical teachings that say you shouldn't wear clothes made of two types of material- lets barrack all those heathens wearing polyester cotton blend shirts!
