Another busy day for me today with plenty more tidying to do in advance of Patrick & Katie's return next weekend. Taking into account the time I'm spending with them this weekend, there are only six days now that I won't see them before they come home for good, six days for me to get everything ready.

Today I'll be online shopping for a few things I need for when they come home. I've actually got lots of stuff already, clothes, toys etc. Things like formula and nappies I need to sort too – but they can wait until next week once I've spent time with them this weekend.

It's all very exciting. I've no illusions about how tough it's going to be. But I love my children and I'm going to do the very best for them I can, that's what I promised their mum and I'm not about to break that promise. These are children that will hear the words "I love you" every day of their life.
