Brentwood Remains Nausiatingly Tory
I suppose the surprise from yesterday's local election here in Essex is that the Tories actually extended their lead in the local council. The Daily Mail squad from around here have enabled the Conservatives to gain six seats from the Liberal Democrats. There was no loss or gain by Labour.
Down the road in Dagenham the BNP had a good night. They probably would have done round here if they'd put up a posh candidate. As it stands over in Barking and Dagenham, the BNP gained 11 of the 13 seats it contested becoming the area's second party. One ward has still to declare. I suggest we nuke the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

Exactly, though I'd also suggest the stupidty of the people of Dagenham played a large part too.
I better be careful or they'll be marching down the A12 with pitchforks and torches to get me.
