At the End of the Day, 'Arry
My beloved L returned home not long ago from a busy day that included a meeting with the vicar who will be conducting our wedding. I explained the rather bad news I'd had today and as ever she was her lovely caring kind self. She was also extremely angry about the company that shall not be named (for now) and their handling of things. Given half the chance I think she'd like to punch the boss there on the nose.
But anyway, I wanted to write this blog entry so we don't end the day with an angry one on the site. We've talked about what we can and can't afford for the wedding, how we're going to keep a roof over our heads for the next month or so and have reached some decisions.
So tomorrow I will be posting off the deposit for our honeymoon after all. We'll find the money somehow and the wedding is some way off yet. I'm also going to pay for the wedding venue tomorrow too. At least folks will have somewhere to come and have a pint after the ceremony even if we may not be able to afford the catering.
But who knows what will happen in the next few months. After all I've been in this situation before and much better work because of it. So the focus for the rest of the evening is on thinking about our wedding in September. L has thrashed out an order of service with the vicar and we've been discussing what music we'd like to leave the church to. We've decided on a song but we'll leave it as a surprise for those attending the ceremony.
I'm a very lucky guy. Here I am with the world's greatest girlfriend™ planning our wondering future together. So yes today we've had a shock and a bump in the road. But are we going to let the bastards get us down? Of course we aren't. In a few months time I'll be marrying the girl of my dreams and no-one's going to stop that.
Tonight we're going to each some junk food, watch a couple of movies and kick back and relax. And I'm sure our conversation will be filled with happy thoughts of our September wedding.
